Concept is capable of handling any project. We believe every job, large
or small, simple or complex, deserves the same level of expertise and service.
Nevertheles,as can be seen from the photograph to the right, some projects are more demanding on our resources.
The Restoration of St Pauls Anglican Cathedral - Melbourne
One our most recent projects was to supply the access scaffold for the restoration of the front spires of
St Pauls Anglican Cathedral in Melbourne. The location of the site - on the corner of Swanston Walk and
Flinders Street, made this one of the most challenging assigmnents we have undertaken.
This particular street corners is one of the busiest in Australia - Flinders Street railway station, which
handles many thousands of comuters each day, is directly opposite the site. Because of this we were only able
to position our crane in the off street car park on the East side of the cathedral.
After we had decided on our final design, a comprehensive risk assessment, job safety analysis and traffic management plan was developed which
formed the basis of our Occupational Health & Safety Plan. Prior to commencement of works the plan was discussed in detail
at a site meeting with our client, and representatives of the Victorian WorkCover Authority, CMFEU, our engineer, the crane
company and our erection specialist subcontractors.
The support grillage and scaffold were in position for approxiamately 15 months during which time we were able to achieve a
record of no lost time through injuries or safety related issues. We feel that this project reinforced our claim that Concept
is a company that is able to provide
